The add-in I'm making is for a very small company, they want to make use of public folders, so all of their contacts will be in a public folder for contacts, and important emails will also be stored in subfolders within public folders.
What is the best way if I would like to associate a email to a contact?
I've read how activities are no longer available for pf contacts, so doing linking there isn't possible.
Will it be entirely too messy to store within a user defined filed from a Email with its entryid & stored, saving the association info there, as well as storing the info in that Contact item as well. So that when I go to the Contact item, within
my form region it can display what Emails its associated to, and vice versa.
I'm afraid of these entryid's changing everytime the email or contact gets moved into a different folder, and how I can possibly make that fool proof & keep up with it in the user defined property.
Its a small budget, so it has to be done without BCM, Sharepoint etc... just a C# add-in for strictly Outlook 2010. A sql server is involved however & data on the associations could be stored there if anyone thinks that is a better idea.
The entryIDs & storeIDs seem to be quite long.''
Thanks for any ideas, just looking for guidance and if needed some scrap of code that would lead in a direction to make this work really well.
