Emphasize ContentControl

    Pertanyaan

  • Hello,

Is there a was to emphasize a ContentControl in Word in such a way that the printed document will not have the Ranges of the ContentControl emphasized?

I tried the EmphasizedMark on the Range, but it shows on the printed document.

I am using VSTO 3.0 for Word 2007.

    Best regards,

    Silviu.

  • Hi Silviu

No. You'd need to use some kind of code to change the formatting before sending the document to the printer. Simplest would be to have a paragraph style linked with the content control and simply change the style definition (rather than needing to loop all content controls and change the formatting).

  • Hello Cindy,

I was thinking of hooking to a mouse hover event, and change the background of the range or something like that. It`s a shame that the ContentControls don`t have this option.

I will leave this unresolved for a while, maybe someone was an idea. If not, I will mark the answer.

    Best regards,

    Silviu.

  • Hi Silviu

Usually the content control does "reveal itself" when you hover the mouse over it. I get a light blue shading.

  • Hello,

I noticed that, and I was trying to get a Windows Hook on mouse hover to see if there is a way to access that background color. If this is even possible.

    Best regards,

    Silviu.

I've been working on something similarly where when you hover over one item, it would show all of the PlainTextContentControls with the same title in a text.  I utilized the range to do this, but I have not been happy with the results so far.  May work better for you.
