office 2010 and office 2011 for mac compatibility

    Question

  • Office 2010 allows the use of the FileSystemObject for reading from and writing to files.

Can such a construct also be used in Office 2011 for the Mac or is the Windows scripting host only available on Windows systems?

FileSystemObject and other objects based on ActiveX controls are not available on a Mac.  If all you are doing is searching a folder consider the VBA Dir() function.
