autocomplete with combobox in excel

    Question

  • Using data validation to populate list in combobox. I want to give the same funtionality of autocomplete. User type "a" list goes to first instance of "a" in list of Employee first names. "b" does to first occurance of "b" and so forth. The data validation list is in a named range on a hidden tab in a workbook. Anyone have any ideas where to start? Many thanks as always....

  • Simple - use an ActiveX Combo box and set its MatchEntry property to zero (fmMatchEntryFirstLetter)

  • I'm using a form control, data validation is a drop down list from a named range on a hidden tab in the workbook. No such property exists for a form control, do I need to switch to schieve the result? No autococomplete available with data validation list correct?
