Add Fields to Outlook 2010 Task "details" tab

    Question

  • I want to add 4 basic text entry fields, 4 "drop down" fields, 2 data fields, and 2 yes/no fields - to the detail tab of the Standard Outlook 2010 Task Form.

I would then share this form without about 30% of our 75 person organization.

  • The main tab of a task item is not customizable. You can add your controls to one of the other tabs that are available.

An alternative, but it would most likely require use of a COM addin to supply any business logic, would be to create an Outlook adjacent Form Region which could be shown at the bottom of the task form.
