Migrate Infopath 2007 to Infopath SharePoint 2013 site

    Question

  • Hi There,

We have a MOSS 2007 site which has a form library with Infopath 2007 template and forms. We would like to move this Infopath 2007 forms/template to a SharePoint 2013 site. Can you please help me with steps on how I can do this?

    Thanks,

  • Hi Athmanandareddy,

First, unless you are using a third party tool there is no way to directly migrate 2007 to 2013. You have to first migrate 2007 to 2010 and then 2010 to 2013. I recommend using the database migration path for each.

Having said the above, in your 2007 farms web application, save the list as a template. This will save the form as well. Copy the list template (STP) file to the 2013 farm and create a new list. You should now see the new form.

BEFORE ADDING the template to the 2013 farm

    • Ensure Infopath form services is setup correctly via central admin.
    • Make sure you have the state service running.
    • Ensure you have the customer experience feature activated from where ever you are deploying from.
    • Re-configure all data connections in the form, where possible.

    Hope this helps!
