Custom Appointment Button

    Question

  • I need to determine how to modify a button in Microsoft Outlook 2007. Basically in a public calendar there is a custom appointment button that adds a required attendee. I need to change this email address but I don't know how it was originally setup. If someone could tell me the possible ways this could have been setup, it will help me. I do know it's not an addin as I disabled addins and it persisted.

  • My guess is someone added a custom button and associated it with a macro.  Go to the Customize dialog for the toolbar and you will be able to see what macro is assigned to the button; then locate the code in the VBA Project and edit accordingly.

  • I found the custom button in Outlook 2010 and it looks like I can export it as a exportedui file but I can't seem to figure out how to find out where the macro is

  • You can open the .exportedUI file in Notepad - look for the button and note the onAction element; it'll list the module and method name for the macro.
