I have an unmanaged Excel COM add-in (a shim that works with the managed components). It is signed by authenticode, and I can see the digital signature details through context-click properties of the dll in Windows Explorer and in the "Digital Signatures"
However, when "Require Application Add-ins to be signed by Trusted Publisher" is checked, I always get a security warning for my add-in. I want to add it to the trusted publisher list, i.e. opening the Office Security Options dialog, and choose the optionof
"Enable all published by this publisher". But there is a warning saying "There is no digital signature available for my add-in".
Can anyone tell me how this behavior can possibly manifest? (It is consistent on both Office 2007 and 2010.) Maybe Office has a special mechanism to recognize a digital signature in my unmanaged COM add-in?
