Menu toolbar disappeared

    Question

  • Hi All:

We have a large app that uses a toolbar menu (ala Access 2003) rather than the ribbon.  This works fine in Access 2007 and Access 2010.  However we have had two instances in which a user somehow turned off the menu.  We are not sure what they did; but it may have had something to do with clicking on the wondows title bar.  It appears that they somehow changed an option in Access since reloading the app does not restore the toolbar and the same apps running on other computers is unaffected.  Any ideas?

    Thanks, John

  • Go to the Immediate Window and use:

    DoCmd.ShowToolbar "YourToolBarName", acToolbarYes

Then press Enter. That should expose it again. I'd also go back to 2003 and check the settings on the toolbar to make sure the user cannot alter it or move it.
