Last week i found a great blog to solve my excel sheet problem which is listed below -
TRICKS FOR CREATING DROPDOWN LISTS THAT LET YOU SELECT MULTIPLE ITEMS - WORKED GREAT
My problem now is that i can only add up 1 list item from a cell even though there are 3 , 4 or 5 items in a cell from drop list.
I have as list of initials in my drop list eg - BS , MH , DR MHD etc (client list)
I need to give items in drop list a value either 0.15 , 0.30 , 0.45 , 1.00 (minutes , hours worked)
I have used the following formula =(30/100)*COUNTIF(B6,("BS"))
This adds 0.30 (shift worked with client BS)
If i add BS + MH + DR from dropdown list it will not add up at all only 1 item.
I am very new to excel.
Please let me know if this can be done

Select Case Target.Column
Case 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 '
this Case line works for column B only
'Case 2, 5, ,6, 'this Case line works for multiple column , On Error Resume Next
'check the cell for data validation
Set rngDV = Target.SpecialCells(xlCellTypeAllValidation)

I'm not sure about your requirement. Do you want to sum the items in the dropdownlist? How is it related to the funtion? Would you please share the blog's link with us?
