Formatting data in Excel Dynamically

    Question

  • Hi,

I need to format a data based on some logic in Excel 2010.

I am trying to format a data based on particular column. Please find the below scenario.

       S.No.       PurchaseDate      PurchaseID

        1             08-24-2012          08121  [Format: Purchase Date's month & Year + Number ]

        2             03-23-2010          03102  [Similar logic to above].

I need the Specified Format for Purchase ID.  This ID is to be generated based on the concatenation of it's Purchase date's month, year and an auto generating Number . [Usually starts from 1,2,3,4 and so on.]

[Please note: I dont want to format this data From Visual Studio. Either Excel or macro is enough.]

Can any one tell me how could I achieve this?

      Thanks.
