    Question

  • Gday,

I am trying to run office 2010 from VB2008. I used to drive office 2007 through the PIA, which points to the msword.olb file, but i cant seem to find anything like that which applies to office2010..

    any help ?

  • Hello corrins,

As Cindy said above, we could use Office 2010 PIAs as Office 2003. In Office 2010, the MSWORD.OLB file is located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14. Here is a KB article introducing how to embed and automate a Word document with MFC: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238611.

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

Thanks for your post. Below is some quotation from here.

"With .NET 4.0, Office 2010 and Visual Studio 2010, we're doing good things like removing the dependency on the Office PIA's, to reduce the deployment friction. We have introduced a new Application Compatibility Program for Office 2010, to help migrate code from 2003 & 2007 to Office 2010."

There's also a similar thread: office 2010 PIA for VS2k8 Development

       Hope this could help you.

  • Hi corrins / Sam

I'm going to move the message once again, to the more appropriate (and fairly new) Word Developer forum.

FWIW, corrin, the Office 2010 PIAs exist and can be used in the same way as those of previous versions. Where are you looking and not finding them?
