Hello.
Is there a requirement for any Metro app being published to also have a trial version?
Thank you.

Is the requirement the following?: "Certification requirements for Windows apps"
This document describes the criteria that we use to certify an app as being eligible for listing in the Windows Store.

Thanks, but it that doc is incomplete.
This is all it says about trial mode:
1.3 Your app’s trial functionality must reasonably resemble its full functionality
A trial can limit access to some of the app’s features, or limit the period of time that the app functions.
but it doesn't say whether you _must_ have a trial version. Which is my question.

No, your application does not need to have a trial version.
According to "Deciding how you offer your app to customers" in MSDN, you can provide your apps for the store by the following three ways.
# Full-featured app
# Free trial period
# In-app purchases"Full-featured app" has no trial.
Also it says that "*If you want* to let users experience some of your app's features for free...," then you'll choose the Free trial period.biac [ http://bluewatersoft.cocolog-nifty.com/ ]
