What happened to the website I created?

I created a website a couple of weeks ago. I didn't upload any content, as I have been busy with other things. I just now logged into my Azure account, and there is NO WEBSITE! I tried to recreate it, and now I'm told that the name is already in use.
What the hell is going on???

Hi Paul,
Web Sites are still a Preview Feature. If you are positive that you didn´t delete that missing Web Site, on your subscription, I suggest you contact customer support. They will be able to help you out with this issue.

About ten minutes after I wrote my initial post (above), the website magically appeared in my account. Then, a short time later, it disappeared again. Today, it's there.
This isn't giving me much confidence in the Azure website solution, and I need to make a big architectural decision in the next two weeks. Any idea when the website preview will go out of preview and into production?
