Question

We have moved to the Windows 7 32-bit platform and after installation of the TFS plugin to eclipse we cannot share any new projects to TFS.  We can import existing ones and do any normal source control commands on them from Eclipse (Check-In, Check-Out, etc...).  We have tried on mulitple fresh Win 7 installs and they all have the same issue.  We have tried new workspaces as well, nothing works to resolve.  We have one older XP machine that works just fine to Share Projects.  Any idea what is causing this?  I even tried teh SP1 version of the plug-in and no luck.

Which versions of Eclipse are you using on XP and Windows 7?  Are there any errors in your Eclipse runtime log file, or in the Team Explorer Everywhere logs?

2.  I cannot find any TEE log files, however after taking the Share Project action the below is generated in the Eclipse logs.

Those first exceptions look unrelated to the TEE plug-in.  You can find TEE logs by clicking Help > Team Explorer Support, then examining the information in the tabs.  You can export your log files from that dialog (Export button at the bottom) and send them to me at [e-mail] and we'll take a look.

The only idea that currently comes to mind is that the Windows 7 Eclipse installation (webMethods?) is missing one or more plug-ins that team providers (like TEE) require.  Perhaps you added some extra software to the Windows XP installation, like CVS or another team provider, that installed the required plug-ins.

E-Mail with logs sent.  I remember looking at these before, could not remember how to get to these.

Confirmed we are using webMethods Designer.  I originally thought it was VS 2005 or even VSS as we use VSS for other parts of the environment as they are not compatible with VSTS in our version.  I installed VS 2005 but that did not help on the Win 7 machine.  It is possible that the VSS plugin was registered on the XP machine at some point.  I can give that a try on the Win 7 machine and report back while you look at the logs.

I never thought this would be related to the issue at all, but installing the VSS plugin resolves this issue.   Not sure what this package has the the TEE one does not or if it is environment specific.  Thanks for the help.

Great, I'm happy your issue is resolved!  However, I'm also a bit confused since the TEE plug-in for Eclipse doesn't interact at all with the VSS plug-in.  In fact, I didn't even know there was a VSS plug-in for Eclipse.

Now that the VSS plug-in is installed, you may want to export the log files again to a different archive, and compare the "before" and "after" data.txt files in the archive.  I suspect the VSS plug-in installed a base Eclipse  plug-in that TEE needs, and we should make sure new releases of TEE do that automatically so other users don't have the same problem.  Feel free to send along the other log file archive if it wouldn't be too much trouble.

Agreed, that is why I did not install the VSS plug-in since we are not using it. The VSS Plug-in is at http://vssplugin.sourceforge.net/. I have sent the updated logs to your e-mail that have the VSS Plug-In. I will try to compare the data.txt files when I have a moment.
