Hi Folks,
Been using the Teamprise TFS plugin on Eclipse 3.5, worked well for quite a while.
Have recently found out about the new MS version of the plugin so decided to try it, downloaded it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=af1f5168-c0f7-47c6-be7a-2a83a6c02e57#filelist. Installed the command line client from that page also, and followed the guide on installing it as listed on that page also.
Install on Eclipse didn't have any issues, selected 'Agreed to licence' etc, but no 'next' option highlighted to get to the page to select the 'Trial' , only have a 'Finish' option. Select finish, and then add the view to my editor, however an exception is thrown:
"Could not create the view: Plug-in com.microsoft.tfs.client.common.ui was unable to load class com.microsoft.tfs.client.common.ui.views.TeamExplorerView."
is the error in the view created.
Full details:

I am not sure of the exact Java version, however it's updated regularly so I assume it's quite recent. Running Windows XP SP2.

Hi James,
Sorry that you are having trouble getting started. To rule out any issues with the download would you be able to download the plugin update archive again (TFSEclipsePlugin-UpdateSiteArchive-10.0.0.zip) and install into a fresh Eclipse instance (either 3.5 or 3.6 M7 - just one that hasn't had either the Teamprise plug-in installed or a instance from your previous download of the plug-in).
When you add the update site, press "Archive" and point it to the TFSEclipsePlugin-UpdateSiteArchive-10.0.0.zip file that you downloaded.
You won't get the trial license key bit during the install, but the first time you try and connect to a TFS server using the plug-in. Sadly you are not getting that far because it is complaining about an issue with the plug-in activator in the download you had previously.
Let me know if that then works or if you get the same error.
Many thanks,
Martin.

Thanks very much for your suggestion Martin, re-downloading the plugin was about the only thing I didn't try previously. Redownloaded it this time and installed a fresh copy of Eclipse - worked first go.
Cheers,
James

2012년 2월 8일 수요일 오전 1:43Reinstalling unfourtnately seems to be a common trait amoung windows developers. This doesn't actuall solve any problem and if your like me you have multiple solutions and customizations setup. Simply reinstalling just isn't an option. How about the Microsoft developers do it the write way and just provide a url so we can stay updated and have the installation streamlined.
