Create External Content Type using SQL server from another PC

Question

Hi,

I have created a external Content type and external List in sharepoint server 2010 connecting SQLSERVER in the same PC.But while i create ECT using SQLServer which is in another system, I am getting the error

"Cannot connect to the LobSystem (External System).Correlation ID:ca2bcb97-2ee1-4c5b-b6e6-ca3b881c2582"

Please help me...

It sounds like either a connectivity or a permissions issue.  Can you get additional details from the error log using the correlation id?

Hi ,

This is i am getting as error ,I took from EventViewer.

Could not open connection using 'data source=THOMAS\SQL2008EXPRESS;initial catalog=TestBCS;integrated security=SSPI;pooling=True;persist security info=false' in App Domain '/LM/W3SVC/454661182/ROOT-1-129889027881228685'. The full exception text is: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

Hi,

How did you create your ECT? Are you able to connect this THOMAS\SQL2008EXPRESS MS SQL server with MS SQL Studio under the user you are using in SharePoint?
