Unanswered Not seeing updated Excel file in SharePoint

    I am very new to Sharepoint.  I have a package where Excel files are identified and opened.  My client points to links to Excel files in SharePoint and all works well.  When he updates the Excel files in SharePoint, my package seems to open an old version and doesn't see the updated data.  Is he seeing copies of the Excel files?  How can these Excel files be updated in SharePoint?

    Hi Skier44,

    Is is possible that he may just need to check in the file? If the file was checked out and updated, noone else would be able to see the changes except him,until he checks it in.

    Thanks for your idea, Alex.  My client says that her user opens, updates, and saves Excel files in Sharepoint, but that my package, ExcelCube, which points to these files only sees the original data.  It seems that there might be an unchanged copy of the file she is seeing, or that the updating is held in a copy and the original file doesn't get replaced.

    How are you going about queryng the files? Do you have an example? I'd like to dig a little deaper.
