THE WINDOWS XP PROBLEM
- Hi, when I run some application, after a while error pops up, and sometimes unexpected shutdown happens.The error says:Appl.exe - application errorThe instruction "0x6ac65f64" referenced memory of "0xffffffff" The memory could not be read.Ok -to terminate. Cancel to dedug.well, I have 4G of RAM and it is brand new hard drive.My guees is when an application is running it gives error? Is it a VIRUS?How can I fix it.Thanks in advance,Gennady46

- Sounds like a hardware issue then. Certainly faulty memory can exhibit these symptoms.

- Is it always the same application and the same address? If so, it is incriminating of a bug in the application itself. Apart from that, there is insufficent information whether a virus or hardware problem is responsible.
This has nothing to do with the subject of this forum, by the way. - I know it has nothing to do with the subject. I am sorry, I think I posted in a wrong place.It is every application.But the last two hours ago everything got fixed by itself. I do not know what happened.I think it was a hardware issue. But why it is working well now?Will I have problems later on?
