    I have installed 2012 RC0, the latest silverlight (as requested), enabled the proper authentications, and I am sitll getting the httpwebrequest error message.

    Very frustrating.

    Could you please supply detail information for us? which scenario you have the error and what's your whole error message?

    Can share with us which Silverlight version you are using? RC0 should work with Sliverlight 5. At this time, I also suggest you to try the RTM version of SQL Server 2012 instead of RC0.
