Im the helpdesk tech for a software company, and my Sales manager thinks hes the big cheese on sharepoint, but keeps messing up permissions to sites and folders.  Is ther a way to have a "super" admin account, where I dont have to be in the list of allowed users to see and access the folder?

    Thanks in advance.

You could request or set yourself as the Site Collection administrator. Site Collection administrators have full rights to everything in the site collection.

Just to build on Brandon's response... don't fall into the "Farm Administrator" gotcha. Farm admins, aren't Site Collection Admins. Farm admins have the right to set Site Collection Admins. Like Brandon wrote, you want to be a Site admin, or even better, a Site Collection admin.

Thank you for the clarification , that was my issue, the tech that installed our sharepoint didnt add me to the site collection admins. instead added me to the farm admins.
