Consolidated Comments missing

Hi,

First of all, the OOTB Approval - SharePoint 2010 workflow works fine in my lists. However, when I made a copy of the OOTB Approval workflow and published it without changing anything and start the workflow, nothing was shown in the Consolidated Comments placeholder in the Task form.

Does anyone know what may be the issue?

Hi,

I have a custom approval workflow which initiator can put a request comment when he initiates the workflow and each approver can leave their comment when they approve the document. These comments should be shown in the Consolidated Comments field in the workflow task form but nothing is showing right now.

I did my research, some said that consolidated comment will only show when the workflow tasks are serial. My tasks are serial. Some said that reassigning the Parameter: Request to the Comment field in the advanced setting in SPD will work, but it didn't work for me. It is blank even when I replaced the Parameter: Request with text "test comment" to the Comment field.

Where does Consolidated Comments field get its value from? What is the possible reason and solution for this missing consolidated comments issue?

I really hope someone could help me with this. Thank you.

Hi ,

The consolidated comments column is set by system by default like the Request By column .It is a read only column . As the picture shows ,your consolidated column is empty ,even without the Initiated comments .Is this the only approval workflow whose the consolidated comments isn’t  properly set ?

You can try to edit the workflow in SharePoint Designer and open the task form in InfoPath designer .Don’t change anything and publish the form to SharePoint .Then publish the workflow to have a test .Or you can create an OOTB approval workflow in browser  to have a test whether the consolidated comments is properly set .
