I have Windows XP Pro Media Center Edition 2005.  Not sure how to ask question.  How do I take control of my computer away from NT?  Operating System should be Windows XP ... not NT using kernel drivers.  I am not sure what changes should be made and/or where they should be made.  NT locks files.  I install, update, upgrade, remove .... drivers, bios, controllers and other stuff when I restart to complete operation at reboot NT resets to defaults.  I believe something was changed in boot file.  Don't know enough to make changes without guidance.
