Urgent Problem installing .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 2008 Std 32 bit
- I have installed the application role, and application server foundation service (which is supposed to up the .NET version from V2.0 to V3.0) however, the component services still show V2.0 and not V3.0. When I try to install V3.5 it fails - I assume because it needs V3.0 as a pre requisite. I have also tried installing V3.0 manually but set-up stops because it says I am supposed to install using role management, which I have already tried to do!
For the V3.5 install I don't get a specific error, simple "Setup failed".
I have found the following errors in the event viewer, could they be related:?
.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Failed to compile: System.WorkflowServices, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35 . Error code = 0x80070002
MSDTC encountered an error (HR=0x80000171) while attempting to establish a secure connection with system SBEB-QP-01.
{Registry Hive Recovered} Registry hive (file): '\??\C:\Users\DA\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\UsrClass.dat' was corrupted and it has been recovered. Some data might have been lost.
The server {752073A1-23F2-4396-85F0-8FDB879ED0ED} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

- Hello,
try this one here: http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/408
Else I would open a call at MS as this digs too deep into the system.

- Hi Markthefrog,
Windows Server 2008 (all editions) includes the .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 and 3.0 SP1 as OS component.
Based on your description, it seems that .NET Framework 3.0 could be corrupted. Could you please try .NET Framework Setup Verification Tool to verify .NET Framework 3.0 on your PC?
If it is failed to verify, please try the following points to repair .NET Framework 3.0 files:
See: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2007/03/26/how-to-repair-the-net-framework-2-0-and-3-0-on-windows-vista.aspx
Let me know if it works.
Thanks
