messenger 2011 chat window is blank

Question

hi,

it appears that when i'm receiving messages in a minimized chat window and i restore the window nothing is seen (all grey)

maximizing and reverting back to normal size does solve the problem

also the aero preview is correct...

running on W7 x64

any ideas?

I am having the same problem, it's as though the message window makes my whole windows live messenger stop responding, but if I mouse over it on the task bar and close the chat window it starts to respond again. this happens when I receive messages or open a chat window myself. Also Windows 7 x64 Home Premium here.

I am also having the same problem as DrWhoIs007. It only seems to happen when it's the first message i recieve from a contact. i can fix it by closing the convo window and reopening it.  It doesn't seem to freeze my whole app like dub97gt.

My OS is Windows 7 x64.... There must be someone at msft that knows how to fix this :P

I'm having the same problem.  Not always, but just now and then, the chat window is blank.  Really annoying.

Running Windows 7 x64.

 

Any one have a clue?

I have been having the same problem for the past few weeks. It is EXTREMELY annoying because all messenger windows turn white.. the only thing I keep seeing are the damn advertisements.. :S It usually occurs when starting video, sharing things, and often when I start a chat with a facebook contact.

Fix anyone?

Same Here. Win7 64bit 2011 v 15.4.3508.1109. Every window is empty except for occasional graphics or ads.

ALso have the same on Win7 32bit v 15.4.3508.1109.

Occurs when I get a new message, but only occasionally.

Sadly, you can add me to the list of people running wlm 2011 on W7 x64 getting the whitescreen on incoming messages (dont get them if I click on the popup in the right corner right away) also maximizing and minimizing does make it go away but alas still very annoying).  Bring back WLM 2009.

It seems that I had a custom background theme with aero went back to the default theme and issue went away (recreated my custom theme and so far the issue has not come back) fingers crossed.
