Visual Studio 11 Beta Ultimate Installation Fails

Question

Visual Studio 11 Beta Ultimate installation fails with this error.

Visual Studio 11 Prerequisites
Incorrect function.

Microsoft Visual C++ 11 x64 Minimum Runtime - 11.0.50214
The system cannot find the path specified.

Here is my vslogs.cab. I hope this is helpful to find a solution to the problem.

System: Win 7 x64 SP1 with the latest updates.

I don't check the log by now, but before that I want to make sure that: Did you install VS11 by downloading the ISO or web install? Did you run the installer as Admin? Do you have Developer Preview installed already?

I dowloaded the ISO. I mounted and also unzipped it. Tried both, none worked. Mounting so far gave me 100% success.

I do not have VS 11 Preview installed.

Did you run the program as administrator and if you downloaded the .iso what did you use to mount it?

Hi Ivan, could you please verify the checksums for the VS 11 Ultimate Beta ISO image file that you have on your computer just to make sure that the ISO is not corrupted? You can use a third party tool to do that (eg: HashCheck). Below are the checksums for a uncorrupted VS 11 Ultimate Beta ISO image file.

If the checksums do not match, I kindly suggest that you re-download the ISO image file and try again.

Hi Ivan, I do not understand your last post regarding vs_ultimatelayout.exe working fine. Could you please explain?

Secondly, thank you for posting your checksums. It seems they do not match the checksums I posted. You should re-download the ISO image file again and make sure the checksums match so that you do not get the errors that you posted in your first post.

vs_ultimatelayout.exe is the suggested method on the VS 11 page.

3. Download the Product Layout (vs_ultimatelayout.exe):

• Download a local copy of the DVD layout to your computer. You can run Setup later without contacting the Internet, or you can copy and paste the DVD layout in another location. For most users, we recommended this option instead of the ISO image.
  
• On this page, choose the Download button.

Hi Ivan, thanks for mentioning the product layout file. It never caught my attention :)

Have you tried mounting the new ISO file and installing VS 11? Are you getting any errors?
