are you able to hit this site:https://locator.sync.azure.com/LocatorServiceApi.svc ?
also, are you using the latest agent?
venerdì 2 marzo 2012 05:31
No.i'm not been able to hit this site.why is it needed so?i have deleted all the previous agents and trying to register new agent.

the agent communicates with services in Azure. if you are not able to hit that site, then you are not able to communicate with those services.
you should check your firewall/proxy settings to make sure the agent is able to communicate to services in Azure.
sabato 3 marzo 2012 06:19There is no firewall/proxy/policies on my machine.i m using express edition of sqlserver 2008 R2.is that could be a reason behind it?but that works fine while i communicate with database.
lunedì 5 marzo 2012 11:16Postatorethe connection to your on-premise databases is different from the agent connecting to the data sync service. what do you get when you browse the url i specified above?
martedì 6 marzo 2012 09:36
hithis is a Windows© Communication Foundation service.
Metadata publishing for this service is currently disabled.
If you have access to the service, you can enable metadata publishing by completing the following steps to modify your web or application configuration file:
1. Create the following service behavior configuration, or add the <serviceMetadata> element to an existing service behavior configuration:
<behaviors> <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name="MyServiceTypeBehaviors" > <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="true" /> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors></behaviors>
I get this page when i open the url.
martedì 6 marzo 2012 09:49Postatoreso you are able to hit the service then. have you tried re-generating a new key from the portal and entering that in the agent?
martedì 6 marzo 2012 10:07ok.but i tried many times as same but still failed.i used the latest agent ,regenerated key from the portal but nthing working!

Sorry... new at this.
Uninstall the Data Sync Agent on your local machine. (don't repair... completely remove)
Then... re-install the agent.
