Data refresh more than once a day

Hello,
Is it possible to parameterize SharePoint so that the PowerPoint data refresh is done more than daily ? There is a daily, weekly and monthly entry in the configuration panel, but it seems there is no way to do it more frequently. Sounds rather odd, as there are lots of businesses where the refresh must be done (and can be done) during lunchtime...
I am open to any non-standard solution : SharePoint web service, capturing the HTTP frame when changing the parameter with the ASAP checkbox activated and replaying it later, anything will be welcome.
Cheers,
JP

Hi JP,
Currently, daily is the most frequent interval available for data refresh. There is a post on the PowerPivot team blog that addresses data refresh and can be found here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/powerpivot/archive/2009/11/20/powerpivot-data-refresh.aspx.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Linda

Hi, Linda
Thanks for your answer. Do you have any insight related to a possible change in a next version ? It is quite annoying that Microsoft forces us to this minimal daily frequence. I understand that the frequency should not be too high, but why not letting your partner software editor take care of this ? In this particular project, where the frequency has to be recalculated at night AND at lunchtime, I will have to turn to a competing solution because of this decision that is not based on a technical limitation...
Thanks also for the link, but this is precisely where I first read that the frequency could not be higher. I then found some other resources that confirmed that, and put this question on the forum to see if there was a possible workaround.
Regards,
JP

Unfortunately also the SQL2012 Version lacks this very important feature. There would be so many usecases where business users need data refresh configurable in an interval less then one day! And also in my experience often the data managed with powerpivot is NOT big , so no real reason to be afraid of performance issues when refresh would run in short interval. So PLEASE microsoft: add this missing UI option for more granular interval-configuration then currently possible! If you feel same please vote on this MS Connect Entry: https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/739949/powerpivot-2008-2012-for-sharepoint-data-refresh-more-than-once-a-day
