Edit the error page
- Hello all
I have a workflow that pumps out a email (not its not a workflow question) the email goes to several user.
One of the users approves the item.
Another user is uses the link in the email to go and approve it but they get this
No item exists at http://MYSERVER.local/IT/Lists/MARF Request Form/DispForm.aspx?ID=67. It may have been deleted or renamed by another user.
This is because the workflow copies the item to a archive and deletes it.
Here is my question....
How can I edit this message so it is more understanding to the user ie
"The item at http://MYSERVER.local/IT/Lists/MARF Request Form/DispForm.aspx?ID=67. May have been approved/Rejected already. Sharepoint Admin.
Any Ideas

Hi Alan,
This is a generic error message in the SharePoint.
Per my knowledge, the error was wrapped in the Layouts\Error.aspx, and it was threw out by the SharePoint internal mechanism itself.
If we could customize the error, it would affect to all the scenarios that used the error message, and I would not suggest you to do that.
Thanks for your understanding.

I disagree. The e-mail even according to you (This is because the workflow copies the item to a archive and deletes it.) is wrong because it's been generated by the workflow.
Moving to the workflow forum.

I've been advised by someone who knows a lot more about workflows than me that (not his words) the workflow references in the original post were all red herrings and that (the sense of his words) the post is ONLY about editing an error message and nothing about workflow.
So I'm moving it back.
(Perhaps next time a post that only concentrates on the error message ?)
