Since upgrading to IE8, I have started getting the following error message when editing webparts such as the Content Editor webpart on a publishing page:

"Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?

The page took too long to save. Yo ucan click "Cance", and then try to sae the page again. If  you click "OK", you might lose unsaved date.

Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page."

    Thanks for any help!

Could you please let me know why did you think the issue was caused by IE8? Did this issue went away if IE was uninstalled?

Please add the site to Local Intranet zone and see whether the issue is still existed?.

To add the SharePoint site to the list of Local Intranet (IE7/8), please following the steps:

    1. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    2. On the Security tab, in the Select a Web content zone to specify its security settings box, click Local Intranet, and then click Sites.
    3. Clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box.
    4. In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type the URL to your site, and then click Add.
    5. Click Close to close the Local Intranet dialog box.
    6. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.

Hope the information can be helpful.

    Hi,

We are having the same problem with our MOSS 2007 publishing sites.

We tried adding the site to the Local Intranet Zone, but this did not help. We only experience the problem with IE8 not IE7.

Does anyone have any other ideas?
