Enable filtering on the Name column in a Document Set library

Question

We have a document set library and the "Name" column that is inherited from Document Set  --> Folder --> etc cannot be filtered according to the context menu when clicking on the column header.  It allows us to order by asc or dsc but the message shown is "This column type cannot be filtered".

How do I configure it so that it can be filtered by "Name"?

Can you create a shared column instead of the default name column and filter with this new shared column?

If there is no other way, I suppose I could.  But I prefer to have the link to document and edit menu on this column.

Any other ideas?
