HTML5 Website Display Problems

I designed a website using the Wix Cloudbased html5 software. It shows fine on Google Chrome and Firefox, but not all versions of IE. Problems are mainly associated with images- they refuse to load, they are out of place, the background is incomplete, etc. The problems on IE also seem to be worse on older versions of windows (especially Windows XP) and older versions of the browser- a problem not yet encountered with other browsers. It is unrealistic to expect all of the site's viewers to have the latest version of windows or IE. Other forums I have visited claim that this is a popular problem with IE. Is there any way to solve it?
Thanks.

the cloud service needs to return the correct mimetype for the file extension of the files stored on the server. Configure your cloudspace mime types.....or contact the hosting provider. I presume you have no access to configure their servers.
the same thing happens on MS's free cloud storage SkyDive.... you cannont link MP4 content in your website from your SkyDrive account.
you can inspect the server response headers (f12>networking tab, click "Start Capture") on image file to view what mime-type they are being served with (cranberry sauce?)
IE's security zones use mime-sniffing... so Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click "reset all zones to default"
it may be that you have image files in your cloudspace that have incorrect file extensions (commonly photoshop developers will rename their images with a png or jpg extension), but your cloud services is sending a different mime-type.

mercoledì 8 agosto 2012 16:30As someone else pointed out, without a link to the site, anything we say is pure guesswork. There is javascript available to fix IE to make it appear to work like the other far more modern browsers but we need to see the site to judge if that's the whole issue.
