Cannot get the switch between IE 10 metro and IE 10 desktop to work

    Question

  • Hi all, can any one tell me why the switch between Metro IE and Desktop IE is not working on this site - www. eda.co.uk. I don't see a pop-up that asks the user to switch to Desktop mode.

    Here is a quick view. The last line is what I have added.

    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
    <head>
    	<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    	<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="requiresActiveX=true" />

    The flash for the site is not working when in Desktop IE either. If it is not an obvious answer please let me know if I should start a new post for this.

    Thanks.

    T.

  • Originally I was trying this on a Mircosoft Surface tablet where the problem still exists. I have now had a chance to try this on a standard desktop machine running Windows 8 where everything works fine. Any ideas as to why this is not working as expected on the Microsoft Surface tablet?

  • Hi Tony,

    Thanks for your post.

    According to your description the issue only occurs on Surface, it would be better to raise this issue in Surface Application Design and Development.

    your understanding will be appreciated.

    Thanks.
