'swfobject' is undefined in IE

    Question

  • I embeded a swf in a webpage:

     but when I view the page in IE (v8) I get this message:

    Message: 'swfobject' is undefined
    Line: 61
    Char: 1
    Code: 0

    Again, I have uploaded the folder Scripts onto my site --

     so this is the code I have on the webpage that looks for the .js file:

     <script src= src="../../Scripts/swfobject_modified.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

    So I have the FLV file, the SWF skin and movie, the webpage and the Folder Scripts with these 2 files:

     swfobject_modified.js

     expressInstall.swf

      So why do I get the error message? Have I missed something? And BTW I receipt this error message with or without the Scripts folder being there...

  • I have fixed that:

     

    <script src="../../Scripts/swfobject_modified.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    but still get the error message


    I have the Scripts folder uploaded to my site with the swfobject_modified.js in it...so why do I get this erro message...I have not touched the code it is just the way Dreamweaver generated it when I embedded the swf file....

  • Found the answer on another forum;

     

    I took out this code:

     

    <script type="text/javascript">
    swfobject.registerObject("FlashID");
    </script>

     

    from the bottom of the html and it works!
