  • Hi,

What happens when you try to open ‘New tab’ in Internet Explorer 9?

This issue might happen due to the following reasons.

    a.    Unsupported add-ons

    b.    Corrupted Internet Explorer Files.

To resolve this issue, follow the steps mentioned below.

Step 1: How do browser add-ons affect my computer?

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/How-do-browser-add-ons-affect-my-computer

    Step 2: Re-registering the actxprxy.dll file

Follow the Instructions below to re-register the actxprxy.dll.

    a.    Click on Start; in the start search type cmd

    b.    Right click on cmd.exe and choose “Run as administrator”

    c.    Type the following command and press Enter

    Regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

    d.    If the command was successfully executed, you will receive the message ‘DllRegisterServer in actxprxy.dll succeeded’window.

Restart your Internet Explorer and it should now open new tabs properly.

Hope this information is helpful and let me know if you need any further assistance.
