AdventureWorks2008*.msi Download

Question

I suspect that I'm not the only one having this issue, but I can't seem to find an answer in forums.

I am using the book "SQL Server 2008 Step-by-Step" and trying to download the 'AdventureWorks2008*.msi' and 'AdventureWorksDW2008*.msi' files as instructed in Part I, pg 28, and these files do not seem to exist on codeplex.

Any ideas?

Hi Brian,

The book is out-dated.  The .msi was replaced with a .exe installation application.  You can find it here: http://msftdbprodsamples.codeplex.com/releases/view/37109.  Run the AdventureWorks2008_SR4.exe file.  Please read Database Prerequisites for steps to take before installing the databases and see Installing Databases for step by step installation instructions.

Over the past week, we've made good progress in helping to clarify the AdventureWorks sample database options.

Derrick VanArnam has done a great job of clarifying the entries in codeplex here:
