Since this name change was announced whenever anyone uses the word 'Metro' in blogs etc someone always replies saying 'oh you didnt get the memo' so just call it Memo its easy to remember and not a huge change from Metro.  I dont know why they cant just continue using the word Metro its a common word and associated mainly with public transport and subways and as long as they dont put a trade mark or anything next to it whats the problem?

I see what you're saying, but you can't use somebody else's trade mark or intellectual property for your own product/app.  It doesn't matter whether you put (TM) next to it, (TM) is just something that's used by the owner of a trade mark to remind people that the phrase is actually a trade mark.  And, in this case, it sounds as though there may be some issues about using the word 'Metro' in this way.

Lets call it un-creative, or Gr1, or no imagination, how about color less. What were Microsoft thinking when they removed color from everything?

I would call it "Micro UI". Micro like Microsoft, but also like minimalist UI. And it sounds similar to Metro
