HI
I use TFS with eclipse at work. But, oh how I loathe eclipse. Is there an API for TFS to provide integration for other IDEs? If so, is this API exposed to opensource community? How would I go about getting my hands on it. Is there developer version of TFS available ?
Thanks

You have a public API both for Java and Windows,
You will find the Java SDK for download at http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=22616 and the Announcing post at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/bharry/archive/2011/05/16/announcing-a-java-sdk-for-tfs.aspx
If you have an MSDN licens its include a tfs server licens, if not you could either download a trial version of tfs or createa a project at codeplex.com (Microsoft's free hosted tfs for open source projects)

Hi Venkat,
Are you thinking about building a TFS plug-in for NetBeans or another Java IDE?
Under the current terms of the TFS SDK for Java I know it is a commercial license that allows redistribution, but I'd need to go talk to the folks that did the license agreement on our side under what terms it is currently licensed for redistribution (i.e. could you take our SDK and redistribute it as a binary inside a plugin for NetBeans under the usual NetBeans Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL) or GNU Public License v.2 w/Classpath Exception).
If you can confirm what sort of plug-in you were wanting to write and what OSS license it would be under I can go have that conversation with them and let you know what they say.
Thanks,
Martin Woodward
