    Can MDSModelDeploy be run against a SQL Server 2008 R2 instance?

    Can MDSModelDeploy be run against a remote instance of MDS?

    MDSModelDeploy tool has dependency on SQL Server 2012, and it can't be run against remote MDS service. If you have a MDS database already upgraded to SQL 2012 MDS and also assigned to your SQL 2012 MDS service, you can use MDSModelDeploy tool to process model package.
