    Hi

I have a problem with formatting in a power pivot pivot table.

    • My data values are numeric.  The measure is configured to be numeric with commas and no decimals.
    • I need to show negative values with () rather than - ...   ie: -325 = (325).  To do this I went to the pivot table "value field settings". clicked on numerric and configured it they way I want it there.
    • I am using a pivot table style which includes a subtotal row with dark fill and a white font. Other rows are blue or white fill with black font.
    • Custom numeric formatting on the field overrides the pivot table style making the font black but retains the dark fill making it hard to see (and sloppy).

Is there a trick to getting the two formats to work with each other?  The measure format does not have the more advanced options for numeric display.

    Thanks in advance.

    ok I figured it out...

when applying the numeric format I selected the () with Red font which must have included the logic that positive values are black.   When I chose the other option with black () then the white font returned to the subtotal rows.
