I'd like to thanks to Chad Hensley for replying my early post at http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/tfsprerelease/thread/0796a505-df9a-4390-b2ed-bf875c9c90c6
I got so stucked that I had the same problem after installed TFS 2010 RTM.
The issue got solved very easily as I expected.
Because I set up wrong on Report Services Configuration Manager, I wasn't able to create a Team Project under a TPC because of the above TF errors.
I did check so many times going over the installation guide and TFS administator Guide but I wasn't able to find out why as checking all my configurations on Sharepoints, SQL Server and TFS servers but my set up was correct. Funny thing was that I was able to create the Team project fine on TFS Beta2.
My issue was that I set up the service account as "[domain name]\TFSReports" account intead of using Network service. LOL
If someone runs into the same issue, please let me know.
Anyway, thanks again to Chad.
JR.

I can second this works - I was using a service account and I could not create a team project (oddly enough, it had worked earlier)
Once I switched it to the NETWORK SERVICE account I was able to create team projects again.
Thanks!

Hi,
I have been dealing with this error for several hours now with any success.
The Service account on Reporting services configuration manager in Network Services.
I am the admin on the box, the TFS server and the Project collection is question.
TF218027: The following reporting folder could not be created in the server that is running SQL Server Reporting Services /TFSReports/<CollectionName>. The report server location at: http://<ServerName>/Reports.
The error is: the remote name could not be resolved: ‘<ServerName>’. Verify that the path is correct and that you have sufficient permissions to create a folder on the server, and then try again..
Can you suggest something, any help will be greatly appreciated.

I 've got the same error also...
The Reporting Server Service Account is set to Network Service, but I am not able to create a project. Always ends up in:
"TF218027: The following reporting folder could not be created on the server that is running SQL Server Reporting Services: /TfsReports/[TFS_TPC_name]. The error is TF30063: You are not authorized to access [TFS server name]\[TPC name...]. Verify that the path is correct and the you have sufficient permissions to create a folder on that server and try again...."
Any help would be great.

I, too, have the same problem and error, and the fix listed above does not work for me either. Also, as pointed out, the link in the first post does not work anymore.
Looking forward to a reply from MS on this so we can use this software we paid so much for...
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Up to Today, some reason, I wasn't able to reply any previously posted message.
If you want me to send you the set up document I wrote, please send your email address.
I'm more than welcome to share.
Have you ever removing the current installation and try to reinstall?
John.

Hey I found this link which solved the problem for me:
Required Permissions
To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Reporting Services System Administrators group. For more information about permissions, see Team Foundation Server Permissions .
To add a member to the Reporting Services Content Manager and System Administrator roles
-
Open Internet Explorer.
-
Type the following in the Address bar:
http:// application-tier /Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx
where application-tier is the name of the Team Foundation application-tier report server. You can find the name of the report server by opening Team Explorer, expanding the Reports node, and viewing the properties of a report.
-
Click the Properties tab and then click New Role Assignment .
-
In Group or User Name , add the Windows logon name for the person to whom you want to grant Content Manager permissions.
-
In Role , select Content Manager , and then click OK .
-
Click Site Settings and then click Configure site wide security .
-
Click New Role Assignment .
-
In Group or User Name , add the Windows logon name for the person to whom you want to grant System Administrator permissions.
-
In Role , select System Administrator , and then click OK .

Out of curiosity, tried checking the Report Server's firewall port?
-
dimanche 31 octobre 2010 07:54I had the same issue and resolved it by adding Report Server's port to list of alllowed ports using 'Control Panel' -> 'Windows Firewall with Advanced Security'

You can use a domain account as the Reporting Service Account.
Steps for TFS 2010 with SQL Server 2008 R2:
1) Open IE (I think you may have to Run as Administrator)
2) Browse to http://server/Reports_TFS - You'll see the SQL Server Reporting Services Home page.
3) Select Folder Settings
On my default installation I saw the following:
Domain\Administrator Team Foundation Content Manager
Builtin\Administrators Content Manger
NT Authority\Network Service Team Foundation Content Manager
4) Add your service account here with the Team Foundation Content Manager role. I think best practice is to use groups, so I created an AD security group, added the service account to that, then added the group as Team Foundation Content Manager.

I guess you didn't use a fully qualified name of the server name.
for example: the server name maybe tfsserver.domain.com , if you can't access with name tfsserver on client, this is the reason.
to solve this, you need goto TFS server, open the TFS administration console, and change every URL name with the fully qualified name, including the Team site URL, and Reporting URL, etc. it's better you change all the server name with the fully qualified one.
good good study , day day up -
mercredi 9 mars 2011 11:55This one worked for me. I am amazed how many places you have to work with rights when you have TFS, SharePoint and SQL. I guess Microsoft needs something for the next version :)

I switched to NETWORK SERVICE ACCOUNT (using Reporting Services Configuration Manager - Service Account tab) - and that fixed the problem for me also.

Today I had the same problem.
Solution was to run VS 2010 on the TFS Server as Admin (since I am the tfs admin my domain account has local admin rights on the tfs server) and create the Team Project.

There is no such link.2) Browse to http://server/Reports_TFS - You'll see the SQL Server Reporting Services Home page.

2. http:// application-tier /Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx
There is no such link.....
Also there is no such group either on the box itself or in TFS called:
Reporting Services System Administrators

I have confirmed this make sure that Reporting Services is running under Network Service and not a domain service account.
Mine is running under Network Service and I still get this error. -
dimanche 1 janvier 2012 18:25
Don't ask me why but if you run reporting services under Network sServices it won't work. I change it to a user account which I created for TFS server and it works
the url should be http://servernam/Reports

vendredi 13 janvier 2012 17:44Just go to \Windows\System32\drivers\etc edit "hosts" file in the Client you want to create new project from and add the IP address and Server Computer Name like this: 88.44.44.66 tfsComputerName which the IP address is the IP address that you connect to your server from the internet and the tfsComputerName is the name of the server which TFS is installed on. Just create a back up from this file just in case you faced any problem
-
samedi 14 avril 2012 23:58
Just go to \Windows\System32\drivers\etc edit "hosts" file in the Client
I should have read this more accurately. I changed the file on the server a couple of hours ago, but the error persisted.
After entering the information on the client, everything works now.
Thanks for the post.

Hi John,
Please check your account permissions on TFSReportserver database.
Login to sql using your service account..click on security-->logins-->double click on user account from which team project is not creating
and select usermapping in this check mark on TFSReportserver database and TFSreportserver Tempdb. and select permissions db_owner and public.
Thanks,
