Hello,
Is the source code for the Sql Service Broker External Activator(EAService.exe) available to view? It would help a lot in debugging.
Thanks!

Hi Stephanie,
I don't have a specfic problem now. But the original sql 2005 EA source, before it became a MS product, was available. I found it helpful for trouble-shooting.
One of the main gripes I have with EA is that it forces me to use integrated security. And that forces me into a more complex server setup using Active Directory to hookup 2 or more servers. All for EA notifications.
The original sql 2005 EA allowed db connection using sql authentication. Much simpler for rolling out EA farms.
If I had access to source, I would make sql authentication an option so I would not have to deal with AD to support EA rollout to more servers.
It would be nice if MS would provide that option.
Thanks for your reply,
Stacy

Hi Stacy,
There is an implementation of the ExternalActivator available on the apress site. search for the book : "Pro SQL Server 2008 Service Broker" and go to the download page for this book. You should be able to download all the chapters. Chapter 4 is the one with the implementation.
Hope it helps.
Cheers
Régis
