Trouble instaling SQL Server 2008 R2 64 bit workgroup edition on Win 2008 R2 server
-
lundi 30 avril 2012 18:49
When I start the setup that comes in the download of SQL Server 2008 R2 workgroup I get error message that says that the 64 bit version of setup.exe is needed and this version is 32 bit. Multiple searches for this 64 bit version of setup.exe have given me nothing that solves this issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found setup100.exe on a subdirectory labeled x64 - but it also does not work - get message that the setup has stopped and that error message will be sent. However - no messages show up in my inbox. So what is the problem? Does anyone know why I am so ignorant on this??
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Rich,
Have you downloaded the x64 version or do you have the ISO with both on it?

The path is C:\Program Files where the large 4.277 GByte .iso version of the program is.
I double click on it and it brings up the iso buster with a path to \x64 where the setup100.exe is and this is what I double click on and get the above errors.

Rich,
please use WinRAR to extract the files from .ISO image - or use a .ISO mount tool - as WinZip fails to extract the files correctly and copy the files to local drive and run setup again with administrative privilege.
