how to uninistall the instance of the SqlServer2008R2

Question

i installed the SQL Severer 2008; while installing i choose a named instance; later i uninstalled the SQLServer2008 completely, after that i deleted the registry as suggested by the MSDN.

when i am trying to install the SQLSERVER2008 R2; i am not able to choose the old instance which i uninstalled earlier( i am having the problem in choosing the same name(Old Name); with different name i am able to install the SQLSERVER2008).

please suggest me how to choose the Old instance name while re-installing the SQLSERVER2008 R2?
