As per below VSS documentation we understand that the way VSS works internally is by freezing IO Write requests. In other words IO requests are queued and written once the freeze is over. We are just trying to design the layout such that there is no application timeouts due to the freeze.

Based on the documentation we understand that it is recommended that freeze does not exceed 60 seconds. Just wanted to confirm if this holds good or if there is any other recent documentation. We would like to know what is the recommended freeze period to ensure that there is no impact to the applications.
