Win 7 Pro 64bit
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Version 10.0.40219.1 SP1RelThe .NET 4 source does not work with the current .NET 4 Framework library.
The .NET 4 source fails with a No Source Available error since the source is out of date.
The .NET 4 version for this source is 4.0.30319.1.
Recent Microsoft updates changed some DLLs to 4.0.30319.233.
The 4.0.30319.1 source does not debug with the current 4.0.30319.233 DLLs.We urgently need Microsoft to update the .NET Framework 4 Reference source to the current update 4.0.30319.233.
The details of the failure are as follows.
I installed the .NET 4 source, but was unable to make it work in VS 2010.
I followed the Microsoft instructions for a local source installation given at
Configuring Microsoft Visual Studio for local debugging of Reference Source
*************************************
What I see on my machine.
*************************************
What Microsoft instructions say I should see
I see "Microsoft Symbol Servers" while the instructions do not show it.
I am unable to delete the item "Microsoft Symbol Servers".
The dialog forces me to specify a "Cache symbols from symbol servers to this directory".
I compile and run a program using the .NET 4 library.
Thanks in advance.
From the Call Stack, when I double click on any System.Windows.Controls,
a No Source Available error occurs. The symbols were loaded since the Load Symbols is grey.

I posted a Visual Studio Bug report asking Microsoft to keep the sources current with the binary updates at
I encourage others to add comments to this Bug report to encourage Microsoft to keep the sources current. If they receive enough requests, perhaps someone will correct the situation.

Thanks for filing a connect issue. I really appreciate that Microsoft shares the .NET sources, but it appears to be less than halfhearted right now. Is there anybody out there?
