SDK Version 1.0 Installation freezes on Windows 7 Embedded Standard

Question

I attempt to install the SDK version 1.0 on my Windows 7 Embedded Standard System.

The Installationwindow freezes when the progressbar shows 0%.

I'm working now for 2 days on this problem and hope somebody out there could help me or give me a hint.

Hi Nettor,

  Unfortunately WES 7 clients are not intended to be used for development with the Kinect SDK.  What they do support however is the installation of the Kinect Runtime component.  In fact we recently released a template for that which you can leverage when building your WES 7 images:

  What I would suggest is do your development on a normal Windows 7 system with the Kinect SDK, then when you want to test it on a WES 7 image, just make certain you've installed that runtime component so all needed dependencies get included into your image when you build it within ICE.

  If you didn't build the WES 7 image then you'll need to work with the OEM of that device and ask them to give you a new image which includes Kinect runtime support.

Hi Edwin,

The component should be available on either the ECE or MOO websites.  As you noticed they require a password / account to access.  To get an account you must be an OEM who's purchased the tools from a distributor, not just someone who's running an evaluation copy.  So if you have purchased the tools, but don't have an account / password please contact your distributor and they can help get you setup with an account.
