C:\windows\system32\d3d9.dll is either not designed to run on windows

    Question

  •  I just installed the Expression Studio 2 Trial on my computer and I am getting this error:

C:\windows\system32\d3d9.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

The pop-up has an Ok button on it.  If I click the button the code seems to work fine.

I suspect that this has something to do with the fact I'm running 64 bit Vista.  Does anyone have a solution??

Also, I really like Blend and I'm wondering if there is a 64 bit verision of the program.

    Thanks,

    JP

  • I'm sort of guessing that d3d9.dll is directx 9's direct3d API...

    Directx9 installer here

worst case, it doesn't fix your problem and your directx9 is now up to date

and as far as i know the expression products are not (currently) offered as 64bit.
