I have an include file on my site that is not showing up.
This is the syntax I used:
<!--webbot bot="Include" u-include="../includes/footer.htm" tag="BODY" -->
It should display an un-ordered list that is a simple horizontal menu at the very bottom of each page.
I get nothing. The path and file name looks correct. The file is there. The DWT file has the call to the include file and all pages were updated when I added that.
What am I missing?
The relative path you are showing is "../includes/footer.htm".
The posted link is at http://omba.org/test/ . From that location, the absolute path to the include would be
http://omba.org/includes/footer.htm (i.e. /includes is a sibling folder to /test)
and that returns a 404 error. It appears that either the relative path to the include is specified incorrectly, or the /includes folder is not actually a sibling to /test, or you have uploaded the include to a location other than /includes. Check those things out first.
[EDIT: Yep, Jim's right. Well, we both are... ;-) Entering http://omba.org/test/includes/footer.htm into the address line brings your unordered list right up in the browser. So, the relative path to the include is specified incorrectly, and /includes is not actually a sibling to /test, but a subfolder of /test.]
