Error: File Not Found | Video Segments

    Question

  • I read in the user guide that if you are working on multiple comptuer for a project, that using a shared network was how you manage to do this. The problem is that if you move the location of the file, or rename it, it doesn't link back. I am unable to find a way to re-link it back to a path that has the same information. Am I missing something or is that feature unavailable?

Much like Adobe InDesign, files are linked, so the .indd file remains smaller, but you are able to re-link and preflight. Here in EE4, it seems you are unable to do anything with the source file once it's being edited, which is extremely difficult.

Another issue is creating a tutorial video. I want it to be able to playback as one long video but I also want to be able to create segments, so users can jump to videos that relate to exactly what they need. Is there a way to do this easily? It seems that I would have to delete all of the clips, while keeping only the desired ones, and then encode it. It would be nice to highlight the portion I wanted, and then enccode those specific files. It seems like I have to do a lot of running around to do what should be an easy task.

  • The XEJ project file format is XML-based and easily editable in your favorite text editor. If your media files were moved, simply open the XEJ file in notepad and update the path of the mediaitems.

As for "jump" feature, it sounds like setting thumbnail chapters within your timeline and using a Silverlight template with a chapter list would do exactly what you want. Have you tried that?
